Thanks for visiting our little part of the internet. Here you will find updates on what we’re doing (or have done in the past), and what it is we actually offer. So to start with, let’s deal with what we offer!
“Occasional furniture refers to small pieces of furniture that can be put to varied uses as the occasion demands. Items such as small tables, nightstands, commodes and easily moved chairs are usually included in this category.”
Occasional musicians refers to the idea that we, as musicians, are not limited to one particular occasion (such as weddings or birthdays) but can be employed in any situation where music is desired!
We are two professional career musicians with varying backgrounds in performance and composition covering jazz, popular musics, classical music and improvisation. Between us we have performed internationally and all around Australia in various ensembles, and had original music performed and released both locally and internationally. Alice is a flautist who has a strong interest in the low-register flutes, having works written for her specifically and performing on both bass and concert flutes internationally in various chamber ensembles, and currently works with the Fresco Flute Quartet, of which she is a founding member and for which she acts as librarian and arranger. Vince is a bassist and composer who has worked in professional jazz ensembles around Melbourne, played sessionally in pop/rock groups and performed at a number of festivals and large venues in Melbourne, and works with a free-improvisation trio playing wherever the public lets them! He has also composed music for short films, animations and chamber music which has been performed internationally and some of which will soon be released on move records here in Melbourne, Australia.
We offer to not only perform at your function, but also to compose a piece specifically for the occasion. For example, for a wedding we would compose a short piece to be performed while you walk down the aisle, along with some nice repertoire before the walk to entertain the guests and while signing your lives away! Another example might be a birthday, perhaps you wish to give someone the gift of music composed specifically for them, and performed at their own celebration! This is what we do.
We could even write a piece for you to perform, if you can play an instrument! Or perhaps a song would be more your style? This can be arranged, with or without accompaniment!
